Grants Available for Dog Shelter and Adoption Programs
PEDIGREE Foundation
The PEDIGREE Foundation plans to provide over $1 million in grant funding in 2023 to nonprofit organizations in the U.S. with dog shelter and rescue operations. Program Development Grants of $10,000 to $15,000 are provided for programs increasing dog adoption rates in the following categories: transport programs that move dogs from areas of overpopulation to areas where they're more likely to be adopted, foster programs that move dogs temporarily into loving homes while they await adoption, and behavior programs that help with socialization, training, and stress relief so dogs can move beyond behaviors that might hinder their adoption. In addition, one DOGS RULE.™ Grant of $50,000 a year for two years will support an innovative best practice initiative that focuses on increasing dog adoption rates. The application deadline for both grants is April 7, 2023. Disaster Relief Grants for natural disasters, puppy mill seizures, or hoarding situations are available throughout the year.
