PenFed Foundation: Military Heroes Program

PenFed Foundation: Military Heroes Program

Application deadline: None for letters of inquiry
Description: The PenFed Foundation is a national nonprofit organization committed to empowering military service members, veterans, and their communities with the skills and resources to realize financial stability and opportunity. Through the Military Heroes Program, the Foundation provides grants that celebrate the leadership and service of military members and support the transition from service to civilian life. The High Impact Community Grant supports nonprofit organizations working with military communities. Funding priorities include successful civilian employment for veterans, job training and employment for military spouses, community leadership, and success and stability for military children. Applications should be for a specific project or program rather than general operating expenses. Letters of inquiry for grants are accepted on a rolling basis. (The Disaster Relief Grant supports VA employees and veterans who have been affected by a FEMA declared disaster, while Military Heroes Individual Grants are awarded to veterans, active military, or military spouses for community leadership and successful employment expenses that they are unable to afford on their own.)
