Oklahoma Municipal League Elects Members To The Board Of Directors

The membership of the Oklahoma Municipal League elected a new President and Vice President to lead the OML Board of Directors. The election was held during the Annual Business Meeting which took place at the OML Annual Conference held in Tulsa.

 

Ray Poland, Mayor of the Town of Jones City was elected as President, and Pamela Polk, City Manager for the City of Collinsville was elected as Vice-President.

 

“Our Board of Directors provide critical leadership for the OML organization,” said Mike Fina, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Municipal League. “Ray and Pam have been outstanding Board members, and I look forward to their continued service on the Executive Committee.”

 

Ray Poland was first elected to the Jones City Board of Trustees in 2007 and has served as Mayor since 2009. Poland has also served as President of the Mayors Conference of Oklahoma and has served on the OML Board of Directors since 2018.

 

“I am honored to be elected to this very important role,” said Poland. “It is critical to have voices representing cities and town of all sizes advocating for municipal issues. We have to work together to grow the State of Oklahoma, and we will only be successful if we have strong communities.”

 

Pamela Polk serves as the City Manager of the City of Collinsville. Polk is the first, and only, female city manager in Oklahoma to be credentialed through the International City/County Management Association based in Washington, D.C. She was awarded the prestigious Gerald Wilkins Award for City Manager of the Year in 2017, and the Oklahoma Women in Municipal Government Woman of the Year award in 2022. Polk has been an OML Board Member since 2017.

 

“Being elected to serve as the Vice President of the OML Board of Directors is a great honor,” Polk said. “When cities and towns provide a consistent, unified message, we have a major impact on issues being discussed at both the State and Federal Level.”

 

During the Annual Business Meeting, Scotty White, the Mayor of Poteau was elected to the OML Board of Directors to represent District 3. The following individuals were re-elected to the OML Board of Directors for a three-year term:

 

District 1 - Michael Hart, City Administrator, Commerce

District 5 - Buck Day, City Manager, McLoud

District 10 - Mike Brown, Mayor, Weatherford

Towns West - Craig Parham, Mayor, Amber
