City of Anadarko to Host 1st Annual Caddo County Kids, Kites & Frights Event
Anadarko, OK – On Saturday, October 26, the City of Anadarko, along with Caddo County, will host its first annual Kids, Kites, and Frights event 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 P.M. in downtown Anadarko and the surrounding areas. (See flyer at the end of this article)
According to City Manager, Kenneth Corn, the city is very excited to be presenting the event for its residents and visitors. “We want to give our citizens and families a fun and special experience that will be unique for our community. We have so many activities planned for the day that everyone will be able to find something that they will enjoy,” Corn said.
The event will kick-off with a 5K fun run, sponsored by the Wichita Tribal Health Programs. Admission to participate is to wear a costume.
One of the featured attractions of the event will be a presentation by the Great American Kites company, of Polo, Mo. They will have kite flying demonstrations at the Anadarko Municipal Airport throughout the day. In addition to flying kites, they will hold a candy drop for the kids and a kite show.
Other attractions throughout the day will include a petting zoo, set up in the 100 block of East Broadway; a pumpkin patch in the same area; a family-oriented scavenger hunt; Native American dancing, as well as a Native art show and sale, located at the National Hall of Fame for Famous American Indians.
In addition, there will be a skateboard competition, Zombies in Downtown, the Eerie Acres spook house, fishing clinic for kids, a downtown tailgate set up to watch your favorite state football teams, and much, much more.
“We have a wide array of fun activities planned for the entire family. We hope that everyone will come out because there will be something for everyone to enjoy,” Corn said.
