  1. How to Locate Your Municipal Boundaries For Elections & Taxes

The League is preparing its election calendar for OML members for the Spring 2009 municipal elections.  The calendar contains the relevant statutory dates, deadlines and procedure for holding your election.  In our contacts with the State Election Board, their materials contain an old website address for confirming the location of your official corporate limits.  To find your municipal limits go to www.csa.ou.edu.  Once there, on the left side of the webpage click on “Data, Products & Tools”.  A dropdown box will appear, click on “Maps”.  Choose your city/town.

Identifying the exact municipal limits is vital to know whether sales tax or Ad Valorem Tax is correctly being collected, whether only municipal citizens are voting in your election and whether recent annexations/de-annexations have been officially reflected in the State’s records. If you have questions on taxes contact Troy Frazier at the Tax Commission,405-319-8200 or tfrazier@tax.ok.gov. To file ordinances or make any corrections mail them to:  OklahomaTax Commission, Ad Valorem Division, P.O. Box 53248, Okc, OK 73152-3248.
