ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Deputy Court Clerk I (Cashier) is a customer service job that serves as a primary customer service representative. They provide essential operational support for the Court Services divisions of Criminal, Traffic, Code/Environmental, and Tobacco Courts. This position will require performing other essential and secondary functions and may rotate through a variety of assignments within the Court based upon operational needs. This position works from 7:30 to 5:30 Monday through Thursday and a half day on Friday (7:30 to 11:30).

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Serve as the primary staff person for customer service at the public counter
-Answer incoming phone calls and/or process incoming emails and fax messages
-Accept, research, and verify all incoming payments to ensure that payment of fines, bonds, court costs, and late payment penalty amounts are correct
-Complete all the necessary processes for suspension releases and internal warrant recalls to Service Oklahoma
-Complete data entry for citations
-Assign deferral hearing dates by computerized docketing upon posting of bonds
-Process court documents, manually file hard copy motions, and use computerized docketing to assign cases
-Input defendants' court-ordered probation conditions into the court's computerized case management software system
-Input the receipt of incoming documents from criminal and/or traffic defendants

QUALIFICATIONS

-High school diploma or GED equivalent
-12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training
-Or equivalent combination of education and experience
-Have or complete the Certification Program of the Oklahoma Municipal Court Clerks Association within three (3) years
-Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier

NECESSARY SKILLS

-Mastery of Microsoft Word or other word processing software
-Ability to learn and use multiple specialty software applications
-Ability to multitask and work in an environment with frequent interruptions
-Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
-Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
