Key Responsibilities
The City Manager serves as the Chief Administrative Officer, overseeing all city operations and leading a team dedicated to providing exceptional services to the residents of Parsons. Responsibilities include:
•Budget and Finance: Manage the city’s budget, ensure fiscal accountability, and provide innovative solutions to optimize financial resources.
•Infrastructure Management: Oversee city infrastructure projects, including maintenance, capital improvements, and future planning.
•Planning and Zoning: Provide leadership in land use planning, zoning, and development to encourage growth and maintain the community’s vision.
•Housing and Community Development: Implement strategies to enhance housing availability and promote sustainable community development.
•Human Resources: Oversee HR functions, including employee relations and policy development.
•Policy Analysis and Development: Analyze and develop policies to address the needs of the community while ensuring operational efficiency.
•Community Leadership: Foster relationships with residents, businesses, and stakeholders, promoting open communication and collaboration.
•Entrepreneurial Vision: Cultivate an innovative and proactive approach to economic growth and municipal management.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional experience may be considered in lieu of education.
•4 to 7 years of progressively responsible experience in local government or a related field, with expertise in:
oFinance and budgeting
oInfrastructure management
oPlanning and zoning
oHousing development
oPolicy analysis and development
oHuman resources management
•Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to balance a visionary, entrepreneurial mindset with practical decision-making.
•Ethical, approachable, and committed to transparency and collaboration.
Compensation
Competitive benefits; salary $115,000 - $130,000, DOQ.
