The City of Midwest City is currently accepting applications for Human Resources Officer in the Human Resources department. The incumbent performs administrative duties in the area of assisting in the coordination and administration of human resources and benefits related activities, researching and preparing reports, planning, coordinating and/or implementing special projects. This is a technical/administrative position involving diverse practices and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, and confidential office work specific to the department. Some independent judgment is exercised, based on knowledge of duties. Work involves regular contact with employees, supervisors, and the public on matters of significance to the department. Exercises trustworthy service, courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with others. Work is highly confidential and involves the skilled use of a computer. High School graduate or equivalent with an Associate degree in Business or Public Administration plus 2-3 years’ experience working in a Human Resources office required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Public Administration with one (1) year experience working in a Human Resources office preferred. Previous experience with state and federal guidelines and regulations (DOL, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, etc.) preferred. Must pass clerical, Word and Excel tests. Starting Salary Range: $25.6783-$27.1893/hr.
